Marie Deroudilhe is a state-certified architect who began her career in interior architecture with Terence Conran in London, before joining the Patrick Jouin agency for 5 years, where she worked on a number of restaurant projects, including those for Alain Ducasse, Mix Las Vegas and Dorchester in London.
Having been trained by these designers in the study of detail, design and craftsmanship, she opened the Marie Deroudilhe firm in 2011. From then on, her projects have varied in style to ensure a lasting impact. With Rech, taken over by Alain Ducasse in 2012, the restaurant took on a Scandinavian feel and illustrates the firm's philosophy: natural light, softened volumes and attention to detailed execution underpin her vision as an architect. Then came the Rue Bleue residence (2016), which cultivates a refined, minimalistic and poetic character, while the Michelin starred restaurant, Nomicos (2018) combines patinas and raw metal elements. It's only a short step from the small details to the monumental. She also knows how to shift from seriousness to whimsical, working with pastry genius Christophe Michalak, who entrusted her with the designs for La Maison. Marie Deroudilhe also isn’t afraid to invite nature into bucolic spaces, such as the Lily of the Valley café (2014) in the heart of the Marais district and the restaurant Pique-Nique (2019) near Les Halles, where patrons sit under a canopy of flowers. More recently, the firm has delivered several large-scale residential projects, and three restaurants in Paris for Alain Ducasse (2021). Attentive to the imprint left by a place, Marie Deroudilhe orchestrates her passions as they assert themselves and become clearer with each new world she designs.
This trademark has earned Marie Deroudilhe several nods in AD France's list of the 100 Designers of the Year. In 2019 Marie Deroudilhe co-founded Wrk, a firm that borrows from the home and hotel industry concepts to create unique and sustainable workspaces.
